Does La Mer face cream really work? Or is it a big marketing scam?
I purchased it about 2 months ago. It's really works, my skin is combination (normal/oily) and I was sceptical of using it. But it didn't cause me break out and instead balanced my skin. You can see result the next morning after applying tonight. In the morning your skin looks supple and plumed up. I use it only in the evening as it too rich for me during the day. I did so many research before purchase but thought I'll give it a try by myself. Yes, it really works. In fact, I even asked a question on Yahoo, however nobody really knew just that is so expensive. But there are so many products on market that are even more expensive. You need just a pea-size of Cream de La Mer on your face. So a 2 oz. jar will last a year. I live in California and they don't advertize it at all.
What is your opinion of the foundation make-up La Mer?

La Mer was invented by somebody who had an accident resulting in the most severe burnings of his skin. That's when he invented this creme, as a way to make his scars look better.
I know the creme, I use it myself (very very rarely).
It is way too much for young skin. It is very heavy. I would only use it if you have super super dry skin.
Further, if you have sensitive skin, it may as again be too much for it.
It's actual purpose is to soften and make the appearance of scars better. It works there is no question but I would rather go for something like Idealist or Advanecd Night Repair by Estee Lauder, either of which may be way more apporpriate for your skin.

Any La Mer related products without?
I've been using La mer for awhile and I like it ok except for the fact that it is very greasy and expensive, and right now I am on a budget because I just moved out of my parent's house. The other prob. I have with it is that it is so emolliant that it rubs off my pillow at night which is awful for the 110$ pricetag. Celebrities claim it has amazing effects, but they're also paying for personal trainers, personal nutritionists, weekly facials, and personal chefs------so they don't need any help when their skin already looks good.
No its not worth it at all, its not because of the price its too heavy and thick and I have personally seen how it breaks out some people for me it made me very oily and greasy and I did not like it. I will never use any other brand because of the most amazing results I have gotten. Try looking into their hydrating cream or their vital line everything is truly first rate. You will be thrilled with anything you buy from Bee luscious.

The food is the absolutely best around..I received so many compliments about the food and service. They have a food tasting night so you can taste the food before you sign the contracts.
I also looked around at other places on LI and they had the best prices.
I highly recommend Chateau La Mer, I had a wonderful experience, the service, food, staff, everything was really nice.
EDIT: To the above comment, My cake was delicous, not dry at all. I picked up a sample on Ebay about a month ago...There are people selling it on there off and on, just search under the name...Its alot smoother and absorbs better than Creme de la Mer I think...and its cheaper! :) But everyones skin is different...Just my two cents, but give it a try, its about 70 to 120$ for one I think....Hope that helps!

Well I think La Mer is the better known brand, also it is more expensive but they do work. My mother has some Creme de la Mer products and they are fantastic although pricey but well worth it. I recently started using this cream and i started getting many little white spots on my face. Has this happened to anyone else who used it?does it mean it doesn't suit my skin type? i've never used it and i dont recomend that you waste a lot of money on creams, the best thing you can do is; every morning get a towel and soak it with hot water and put it on your face for about a minute, this will open your pores, next was your face with soap, this will get the dirt an grease out and finnaly use nivea face cream (the regular kind) so that you dont get more dirt in them

I need a really good facecream for older, combination skin I was thinking of buying C De La Mer but it is very expensive, I tried a small tester but didnt really feel a great difference. i use the face lotion and i swear by it!!!!!! im only 25 but my skin suffered quite a lot when i was getting chemo 3 years back and since i am very prone to rashes. i used have to use a strong steroid cream and since creme de la mer i dont have to...... if i stop my skin flares right up again. however i wouldnt recommend the cream if u have combination skin as it is so rich and will leave the driest of skin oily after a few days of use. there are 2 types of the lotions available - an oil free for combination and oily skins and the normal lotion for dry..... i have unbelieveably dry skin over the steroids and the lotion is plenty rich for me. honestly tho i swear by it but i only use it at night or rare days when my skin is tender as it costs so much but in my opinion its worth every penny and if my house was on fire it would be the first thing id run to safe (dont tell my boyfriend or my dog!) get a consulation done to make sure u get the right product for ur needs.care credit

I am not sure if it is good for skin with acne, i had bad spots and it didnt seem to affect my skin. But i went on Roaccutane which cleared up my acne.

this really depends on how dry your skin is. With moisturizer you can do no wrong. If your face is dry, then but a little extra on. If you find that you have put too much on to the point where your skin looks greasy, then all you have to do is blot off.
